Community Building

I was born and have lived my life in the tiny Village of Homer, pop. 1100.  I have felt called to missions from a young age, but God clearly reminded me that I need to reach out to my neighbors with as much enthusiasm as I would if I were in the inner-city or across the ocean.  I am passionate about rural development, small businesses, agriculture (and agri-tourism, such as “where does our food come from?”), and mixing this into loving our neighbors and being the change we want to see.

My husband and I have been married for 17+ years, and we homeschool our 5 children ages 6-16.  We find it important to teach them about involvement in their own communities and also the value of hard work.

Thus began the journey of service to my community that has spanned over 20 years.  I hope to take my experience and consult with others, to continue to benefit communities across the country.
